In 2021, the first two issues of the scientific and practical journal “Ukrainian Polyceistics: Theory, Legislation, Practice” of Donetsk State University of Internal Affairs, registered in November 2020, were published. 39 studies of young researchers and experienced scientists have been published in the following areas: organizational and legal principles of the National Police activity; problems of pre-trial investigation; investigative and detective activity; ensuring public safety and order; prevention of criminal and administrative offenses; personnel management of the National Police; psychological support for police activities; international cooperation of the National Police: exchange of experience.

69 authors from different cities of Ukraine: Mariupol, Kryvyi Rih, Kyiv, Kharkiv, Lutsk, Odessa, Zaporizhia, Kherson, Uzhhorod, Sumy, Melitopol, Dubliany – expressed their interest in the new edition of Donetsk State University of Internal Affairs and published the results of their research free of charge.

Each article was reviewed in time and, on the basis of an approving review, was recommended for publication thanks to the well-coordinated work of the Editorial Board: S. Editorial Board

“Ukrainian Polyceistics” is formed and approved as a modern scientific journal. The edition was registered, it received a citation index from “Google Scholar” and it was placed in the section “Scientific Periodicals of Ukraine” of Vernadsky National Library of Ukraine. The journal account was created in the international scientometric database “Index Copernicus International” (Republic of Poland). The application for registration in the international catalogue of open access journals “Directory of Open Access Journals” was sent (Lund University, Sweden). The journal is registered in the international community of publishers “CrossRef”.

Summing up the work in 2021, we thank everyone who made an effort, motivated, supported the initiatives and shared ideas to make the journal appear. We believe that in time the journal will take a worthy place among scientific periodicals. The Editorial Board will be glad to cooperate with creative authors, who will express a desire to join the successful history of the edition: send articles, reviews to the Editorial Office and make proposals for solving the pressing issues of Polyceistics.
